    DAYS 3 + 4.  FOCUS ON MEDIA PRODUCTION IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION

    We created different versions of 6-minute talk show (studio production) and a 6-shot narrative montage (field production), reflecting on the adaptations needed to engage students with media production in the Croatian elementary school context.

    HOMEWORK 1 (optional): Learn more about the Digital Learning Motivations of Educators and  Take the Digital Learning Motivation QUIZ to discover and reflect upon your motivations for bringing digital and media literacy into your work as an educator, librarian or specialist.

    HOMEWORK 2 (optional): Explore the Powerful Voices for Kids website to see how educators worked with children in an urban elementary school summer program to introduce media literacy competencies.

    DAY 1 We discussed media literacy using an online tool called VoiceThread  

     
    DAY 2: ADVERTISING, PERSUASION AND PROPAGANDA
    We analyzed four Croatian commercials using the five critical questions of media literacy. Renee used Kids Recorder app and the laptop application Screencast-o-Matic to put together the teachers' oral presentation of their 5-sentence critical analysis with the YouTube videos of the advertising.
